Claire Barrow (b. Stockton-on-Tees, UK) is a London-based visual artist. She studied Fashion Design at the University of Westminster (2008–2012) and at The Mountain School of Arts, Los Angeles (2024). Her practice spans fashion, painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, performance, video, and image-making. First gaining recognition as a fashion designer, presenting at London Fashion Week between 2012–16 with work rooted in subcultural aesthetics, she has since shifted towards contemporary art as her primary focus, while occasionally producing clothing on her own terms.

She constructs parallel realms, incorporating characters and situations that draw on experiences from her own life and worlds beyond. Visions emerge through semi-random markings; time loosens and becomes floppy, proportions slide out of scale. Her dreamlike states bridge placid utopian fantasy and dystopian chaos, the viewer swimming through social and autobiographical narratives.

Solo exhibitions include Victim of Cosmetics at Fieldworks, London (2023); Tombstone Freeway at Koppel, London (2024); Pipe at Dinner Party Gallery, London (2021); The Birth of Another Individual at The New St Ives School (2020); and Pig Latin Library at Soft Opening, Piccadilly Circus Underground Station (2018).

Group exhibitions include Setting the Tone of the Exhibition, Inside-Out Art Museum, Beijing (2026), Feast, Lust, Waste, Petitree, Shenzhen (2026), Us Lot at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2025), Konomad at New Gallery, Tokyo (2025), 30 Years of British Fashion at the Design Museum, London (2023), Scraper by Most Dismal Swamp on KW Institute for Contemporary Art Digital (2023), There’s Nothing New Under the Sun at Lewisham Arthouse (2023), fathers chariot/THE FALL at Council+, Berlin (2023), Liminal Bridges at Trauma Bar und Kino, Berlin (2022), Parasites at Projektraum im Kunstwerk, Cologne (2021), and Fish Wifes with Shoot the Lobster at Paramount Ranch, Los Angeles (2016), among others.

Barrow has collaborated with bladee, creating the cover artwork for 333 (2020) and a capsule clothing collection (2021), as well as with Ashley Williams, Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and adidas, among others. She has produced illustrated covers for NR (Issue 18, Autumn/Winter 2023) and Hanna Moon’s A Nice Magazine (2024), and directed the music video Tu Te Vas for Isabella Lovestory (2026). Her work has appeared on Euphoria and publications including Dazed, Vogue, The Face, Elephant, Arena Homme+, and Buffalo Zine.
