Distal Phalanx will only accept a return or exchange if you contact us within seven days of receipt of your order and there is a major problem (as defined by the ACCC) with the item(s) or the item(s) recieved is/are not the item(s) listed on your order.

We ship orders Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If your order is placed by 3pm AEST on on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday we will endeavor to dispatch it on the same day.
Please note: orders placed after Saturday 6pm AEST will not be processed and dispatched until the following Wednesday.
Orders are dispatched from our Melbourne, Australia store.
To guarantee delivery, we recommend your parcel be sent to an address where there will be someone to receive it between 9am - 5pm.
Distal Phalanx is not responsible for unexpected shipping delays caused by circumstances such as severe weather or natural disasters. Similarly, we are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances related to the courier itself, such as clearance delays.
All domestic orders are shipped via Australia Post. Delivery times vary depending on the destination postcode. You have the option to select either regular or express shipping at checkout. You are able to track your parcel via the Australia Post website with a unique tracking number provided to you at the time shipment is confirmed.
'In Store Pick Up - Melbourne' shipping option - If you choose the 'In Store Pick Up - Melbourne' free shipping option you are able to pick up your order from our Melbourne store. The store is located at Level 5, Room 19, Nicholas Building, 37 Swanston Street Melbourne. Opening hours are Wednesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. It would be appreciated if your order is picked up within 7 days of placing your order via our website. If 7 days has passed we will give you a friendly reminder via phone or email.
All international orders are shipped via Australia Post's Standard International shipping option and are estimated to arrive between 3-10 business days (dependent on the destination country) with online tracking (recommended) and no signature required on delivery.

If you have selected the shipping option included tracking you are able to track your parcel via the Australia Post website with a unique tracking number provided to you via email at the time shipment is confirmed.
When orders shipped internationally reach your destination country, they may be subject to customs clearance procedures, which can cause delays beyond original delivery estimates. Distal Phalanx is unable to anticipate taxes applied by the destination country’s Customs Office. Any additional taxes, fees, tariffs, import duties and surcharges levied by destination countries are the sole responsibility of you, the customer.
Distal Phalanx cannot determine the amount, if any that will be charged, therefore we encourage you to check with the Customs Office in the destination country to ascertain any additional charges prior to purchase.
If you refuse to pay the taxes and duties payable by the destination country your parcel will be returned to us at your expense and we will be forced to charge you the return fees incurred from the refund of the original purchase price.
From time to time shipments can be held with customs until the recipient pays any taxes and duties payable, therefore please ensure a correct contact phone number is provided at checkout when you place your order.Failed Deliveries & Returned Packages
In the case where Australia Post is unable to deliver a package due to an incorrect address, the customer’s refusal to pay duties, multiple failed attempts to reach the customer at point of delivery, or otherwise, Distal Phalanx is not liable for payment of return shipping costs levied by the courier (which includes any unpaid customs or taxes.). In addition to this, Distal Phalanx is not responsible for any fees incurred upon re-shipping merchandise to the customer. In cases such as these, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with returned packages due to failed delivery.
Lost or stolen packages
Once we have lodged your package with Australia Post, we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
What forms of payment do you accept?
We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Shopify Pay, Apple Pay and payments can also be made via PayPal express checkout. Your payment option is selected during the checkout process.
How can I change the site currency?
The site is set to display prices in Australian Dollars (AUD) by default. At the top right corner of the site, next to the cart, you will notice a dropdown box listing different currencies. Select the currency you would like to use throughout the site from this dropdown box. Please note, all purchases are made in Australian Dollars. Other currency rates shown should only be used as a guide.
Do you offer layby?
Currently we don’t offer layby via the online store. If you email firstname.lastname@example.org expressing interest in starting a layby with us, we would be more than happy to discuss this with you. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to commence your layby with us and you have 4 calendar weeks to pay off the balance (2 calendar weeks for sale items), including any shipping fees. We are more than happy to offer you the above layby terms if you visit us in store. We also offer Afterpay. You can read more about Afterpay here.
Where does Distal Phalanx fulfill orders from?
All orders are shipped out of Melbourne, Australia.
Distal Phalanx believes fashion should not be subject to gender binaries. You will notice you can view our product range by designer or by category (eg. skirts, tops, pants etc). Distal Phalanx is committed to creating and maintaining a safe space for our customers, both online and in our Melbourne store.
What if I need to make a change to my order regarding address, shipping methods, or the order itself?
Changes cannot be made to an order once it has been placed and submitted. In situations where you may have entered the wrong address, shipping method, or there is a product discrepancy, contact us as soon as possible at email@example.com quoting your order number and we will do our best to help. Remember, before submitting your order please carefully review all cart items, payment and shipping details entered.
Does Distal Phalanx ship to multiple addresses?
Unfortunately we are unable to ship to multiple addresses. If you need to send items in your order to different addresses, i.e. for a gift, we suggest you place a separate order for each item. We hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience.
Will I be taxed?

What happens if an item I’ve ordered is actually unavailable?
As we cannot guarantee availability, if an item in your order becomes unavailable or delayed, we will immediately notify you by email or telephone and a refund will be issued if required.
What should I do if something is wrong with my order?
If you received the incorrect item, or if something is missing from your order, we would like to firstly apologise. Please email us within seven business days of receipt of your order at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will resolve the error as a matter of urgency. If you believe you have received a defect item please email us at email@example.com within seven business days of receipt of your order along with pictures and details of the said defect.

Where are your store locations?
Distal Phalanx currently has one store located in Melbourne, Australia. You can find us in Room 19, Level 5 in the Nicholas Building which is located at 37 Swanston Street, in Melbourne’s CBD. You enter the Nicholas Building via lifts in Cathedral Arcade. The store is open Wednesday-Saturday 12-6pm. If for some reason these hours change, a notification will be posted via our Instagram (@distalphalanx)

To make a purchase using Afterpay you will need:

To use the service:
- Add items to your shopping bag
- Select Afterpay as your payment method – you will be redirected to Afterpay
- Register or login to your Afterpay account and confirm payment
- We ship your order as per our standard shipping policy (which you can view here)
- We will get you to process the purchase via our online store using your smartphone whilst in store.
- Choose the In Store Pickup option at checkout so you aren't charged shipping.
- You take your order home with you.
- Afterpay is an interest free payment plan option
- Afterpay offers instant online approval
- There is no application form required
- The funds for the first payment must be available on your nominated card at the time of checkout.
- All new Afterpay customers are required to make their first payment at the time of purchase, with the remaining three payments deducted automatically each fortnight over the remaining 6 weeks. After the first purchase transaction, each further payment will be debited exactly 14 days later, unless voluntary payments are made. At any time, you can log in to your Afterpay account to view your payment schedule and make a payment before the due date. If you do not log in and make a payment, Afterpay will automatically deduct the installments from your debit or credit card each fortnight.
